Leadership: Part 0 - Preface

Leadership: Part 0 - Preface

My friend Thomas Richard recommends writing on LinkedIn frequently and I've had a few concepts I've wanted to put into words for a while now, so I figured there's little harm in it and maybe some upside too.

This series of posts exist because I got hung up on the topic of leadership some time ago and found myself thinking about at odd times. I had been a manager for a while and I found myself wondering how I was doing. Many aspects of management didn't come naturally to me, so I was looking to improve myself. It was during these odd reflections that I started to think about leadership and management as separate things and that sent me down a rabbit hole for months.

These posts aren't a list of solutions or some sort of guide to becoming a better leader. They are simply my musings over several months on the topic of leadership, what it is, what it isn't, why we talk so endlessly about it, and why we can't seem to find what we're looking for.
