Leadership: Need a guide?

Digital Transformation Takes Leadership: Day 2, 2022 of an epic adventure.

Prelude: why write this newsletter?

As my daughter nears the end of her junior year of high school, the search for the next chapter has begun. In our case, it means looking for the right mix of lifestyle and academics at a SEC university. Part of this journey involves “dad” writing about wild family adventures, intermingling the right amount of “tech talk”, “man splaining”, and business jargon, all while attempting to make my daughter smile – sometimes laugh – as she proofs my newsletters. And so, it’s now time to continue the story of the Tinker Family Ski Trip – Day 2, 2022 and weave the "trusted guide" throughout.

Day 2

On March's Newsletter “Healthcare: Can AI & Automation help?”, we explored the possibilities of AI and Automation in Healthcare while intermingling Day 1 of the Tinker Family 2022 ski trip. Day 1 of our journey ended with an unexpected twist: After a nasty break, mom ended up needing surgery, screws, and some medical AI to set her right.  We concluded day 1 with some hot chocolate, a cozy wood burning fire, a book, some wine, and a few magic pain relief pills for mom. After making sure mom was as comfortable as possible, the kids and I got a good nights rest in preparation for day 2 of our epic adventure.

So, "Dad", yes I, took the reigns to make sure the kids where prepared with base layer, (long johns, for you southerners), goggles, gloves, thick winter boots, those magic heated packets for hands & feet… yes, just like Randy in A Christmas Story. – Thankfully, no one fell! So, off we went – on a 3-hour tour, reminiscent of the 1964 Sitcom, Gilligans Island, but in snow.

In the cover photo, my son is on my left in the red jacket, my daughter on my right, and we are taking a moment to admire a beautiful, snow-covered mountain in Deer Valley, Utah. To add to the adventure, we found ourselves in blizzard like conditions, snow swirling around us, yet the picturesque mountain landscapes where still breathtaking - so much so, it could have been taken straight from a Thomas Kinkade painting.

Leadership

Building an AI and Digital experience can bring challenges – whom you have with you will make all the difference. No different than when we found ourselves on the snowmobile in the blizzard. Picture for a moment, being aside a snow-covered mountain in blizzard like conditions. Where the path is barely visible, and the winds are cutting right through you. The excitement—long gone, fear setting in, maybe a little frostbite—the small, adventurous journeyman sitting in front is now shivering with nothing to say, the young lady at the back is telling you she’s absolutely freezing and wants to turn back—but you know there's no turning back now, your fate lies in the hands of the fierce, icy trail ahead.

The thought of the journey ahead, can be daunting, especially when others depend on you to make the right decisions. But with the right skills, determination, and a trusted leader, it is possible to traverse the path that is less traveled. At Verinext, an IT Solution Provider Firm, we are like a guide on a Snowmobile Journey - helping you stay the course, no matter what blizzard-like conditions you find yourself in, or how complex the project may be. To ensure success, it is important to be properly prepared, like in our case, with "heated" gloves, shoes, base-layer, overcoat, and helmet. With the right support, you can reap the rewards that come from facing the challenge of the unknown.

Conclusion

I was ready to take on a daunting challenge - navigating the snow-covered mountains of Deer Valley, Utah, at an altitude of nearly 10,000 feet. I was nervous and my body was cold, and I knew the journey would be difficult and dangerous. So I did something that was wise and brave. I hired a guide to help me. Their expertise and guidance proved to be invaluable as we made my way through the mountain pass. I was reminded that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Are you ready to take on a difficult situation with the help of an expert guide?

P.S. I owe you an answer from my last NewsLetter – So, Did Mom say yes to another ski trip in 2023?

Yes - so brave, once again, we all – mom too – took to the slopes in Deer Valley, Utah in March 2023. No accidents this time.

Adventurous experiences are the most rewarding! It's what vacations are for. In business adventures are fraught with risk without having a trusted guide! Love the analogy of finding the right partner to begin the journey!
