Sometimes you may not have planned for all the resources when starting a project, a dream. Or along the way, the scope of the project becomes larger, so much so that you need to put it aside.
Like in this case, I had only two skeins of wool... Enough for a scarf but as the scarf grew, it wanted to grow beyond being a scarf... I suppose it has a mind and a destiny if it's own... This one wants to be a light warm throw/ shawl. But I had run out of the yarn and sourcing the exact shade took some time because the store was out of stock on this particular shade. We explored the possibilities of adding another color, another shade but that just didn't feel right. This color and this piece needs to be made with it's own kind. It's own shade of subtle pastel that will merge in the background yet have a character of its own.
So the partially done shawl/ throw patiently stayed on the rocking chair, as a gentle reminder and waiting for it's time to blossom into its destiny...
In the meanwhile, other projects/ dreams took shape, got done, other things took priority while this one waited.
Finally, the required yarn is here. This time with a little better planning, estimated for at least a shawl-like-throw for the lighter afternoons.... And here we are resuming and recommitting to this project...
A lot like in life, a lot like our dreams... There are some of our projects, our dreams, especially those that feed our souls, that are waiting to see the light of the day, simply because we didn't have enough resources or planning then... But they are waiting to blossom into their destiny. Waiting to resume, waiting for you to recommit to them.
Which are your such projects, dream projects - what feeds your soul?

5 年V inspiring. I have been itching to paint an empty canvas bought a couple of years ago..maybe it gets half done..but I do have to make a start.
A bit like life, you keep weaving and who knows what dreams could come true. Loved reading the yarn :)
