The Quality of Courage
Courage is one of the most important qualities of leadership. It is courage that cause leader to launch, and it is also what causes people to rally around the banner of leader. Courage, wonderfully enough, can be developed. Courage is not something you are born with, but it is something you can learn.
Courage is something that is habit. You can develop the habit of courage by practicing it. Whenever you have tendency to hesitate or back off from a challenge, force yourself to go forward. Always be moving toward the things you fear. Every day, you must make a habit to confront the things you fear, to face people or situations you fear.
One of the keys to courage is boldness. "Act boldly and unseen forces will come to your aid." Somehow, when you launch yourself continually, things seem to work for you. Forces and people and circumstances conspire together to help you accomplish things in ways that you cannot now dream of. Practice boldness. Practice audacity.
A second key to courage is is willingness to initiate action. Leaders don't wait for someone else to do something. Leaders are attack-oriented.
Another mark of courage is ability to stay the course. This is often called as courageous patience. It is the thing that is practiced by many leaders even Hon. Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Remember that future belongs to risk takers. There is no greatness in life among those who avoid taking risks.
