Leadership and Lean Operating Excellence

1.The leader ensures there is an understanding by all employees of how their work impacts the goals and bottom line.

2.The leader will maintain continuous discussions on improving procedures, processes, and systems.

3.The leader will ensure all employees have a broad understanding of the business, the industry, and the long-term strategic direction of the organization.

4.The leader will make key quality and service performance measures visible to all employees.

5.The leader will establish improvement targets for each major process with a strong emphasis on the elimination of non-value-added work activities.

6.The leader will ensure each major department has an aggressive approach for reducing waste and improving resource utilization.

7.The leader will actively support an approach to simplify and standardize operating procedures and processes.

8.The leader will establish cross-functional process improvement teams that are empowered to improve things 

9.The leader will redesign key processes based on benchmarking from the best-in-class.

10.The leader will establish a key operating norm that supports and actively encourages employees to challenge every process and procedure in an effort to determine if there is a better way
