Leadership is just 3 steps

This week’s leadership thought comes from Lars Sudmann. Mr. Sudmann is in management and finance with Procter & Gamble and is the Chief Financial Officer of Belgium. He has a fascinating three-step approach to leadership. I imagine he sits at the table of very powerful and wealthy individuals.

Below is an outline of his talk.

To lead others, we must first lead ourselves.?He suggests that the ideal amount of time is 40% of our time spent developing ourselves.

Self-leadership consists of three steps…

  1. Self-Awareness- Recall leaders in your life you liked and did not like. Could you compare their actions with yours and then adapt?
  2. Self-Reflection- Take 2-5 minutes a day to reflect on challenges or obstacles you faced the day before. What did you do well? What could have done better?
  3. Self-Resolution- When frustrated, gauge the issue against a scale of importance (1-10) and act accordingly.

For me, Step 3 was the most important thing to hear! I will work on that one the most. Let me know what you guys think.?

What point(s) did you take away from his talk?
