Leadership journey of Lord Hanuman in 'Sunderkand' (Part 2)

In contrast to usual corporate growth expedition, where potential identification, performance evaluation, rewards and feedback happens once or twice in a year, though talk of real time feedback , quarterly evaluation , 360 degree feedback, AC/DC centres like concepts are also heard about with implementation also at few corporates in ceremonical mannerism to claim great place to work like accolades but journey of locating Goddess Sita by Lord Hanuman is real examples of leadership assessment by multiple agencies in real life challenges and how successfully, he displayed leadership traits like Humility, Self awareness, Problem solving & decision making, relationship making with influencing etc. in various engagements.

As Lord Hanuman starts his trip to completely unknown destination ‘Lanka’ to find information about Goddess Sita, Mainak Mountain offers him an opportunity to take rest on him but being very focused about targets and self commitment of not falling prey of any rewards in the mid way, Hanuman ji denies Mainak’s request politely.

If we compare with ours identified potential leaders in the organization, we will be appreciating the facts that they are always after good portfolio with decent perks and benefits though they are just on the way of leadership passage and probably that is the reason of their failures.

The unique about journey of Lord Hanuman in ‘Sunderkand’ is that he is assessed at multiple times & probably first example of simulation, where his power, wisdom( analytical skills & problem solving capabilities) are verified by ‘Sursa’ on the request of Gods and she puts ‘Hanuman’ ji in life threatening challenge by trying to engulf him in her mouth by expanding it up to the size of Hanuman ji but suddenly by making his body very tiny, Hanuman ji enters in to the mouth of Sursa and successfully completes his test of might and wisdom and get her blessings and feedback in the form of completing task of Lord Ram.

Lanka fort was the strongest fort of that time and it was completely protected by invincincilbe and very powerful but cruel giant. Further, guarding & security of ‘Lankini; had made this place almost Impermeable as she was having special boon from Lord Bramha that even a mosquito can’t enter without her permission to Lanka.

This was the most difficult exam for Lord Hanuman to prove his valour and leadership capabilities. But Hanuman ji surpasses this test also by showing his great forsights.After reaching Lanka, Shri Hanuman stops on a mountain. He looks carefully in to the city that he has never been to and analyses. He decides to enter the city at night and in a very small form but Lankini notices Shri Hanuman ji even in the tiny form and restricts him from going in the city. He hits her with a fist and then gets in the city.

So Here Hanuman hi displayed great understanding of current situation and deciding right course of actions after calculating risk inherent in the environment.
