Leadership Inconsistency

Leadership Inconsistency

Hello Leaguers,

I have broken one of the cardinal rules of leadership—?inconsistency. I have been inconsistent in writing these articles. This is 2025—the time to thrive. But first, I must ask for your forgiveness. As a leader, I must live what I teach. Life has been challenging—is that an excuse? No. Life will always present challenges, but we must build a plan that allows us to complete our mission as leaders. We cannot let obstacles prevent us from being great leaders.

Leadership manifests in various forms. How you become a leader is not as important as how you lead. Leadership is an attitude of service. It’s not about having control; it’s about taking responsibility for the vision and for the people entrusted to help you achieve it. To lead effectively, you must serve the people who support your vision.

Simply having followers does not make you a leader. A true leader is open to growth, service, and helping their team thrive. Are you truly a leader if you are not empowering your team to grow and succeed? I say no. Leadership is a position of service, responsibility, and accountability. If you are unwilling to serve, then leadership is not for you.

If your business is struggling or your team is facing internal challenges, consider examining yourself before pointing fingers. Issues often stem from the top. If you are consistently late, don’t expect your team to be punctual. If your messaging is inconsistent, communication within your team will likely break down.

Great leaders are great students. Great leaders are great servants. Are you serving?

As we step into 2025, let’s thrive as leaders by serving our teams intentionally. Leadership is not a title—it’s a daily commitment to uplift, guide, and empower others.

Reflection for this Week: What kind of leader do you want to be?

Until next week, let’s take a moment to reflect and reset.

"Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans." —Proverbs 16:3
