Leadership gets potential recognised on both sides

Some people started small but they always had bigger vision's regarding their future.

"Think big and don't listen to people who tell you it can't be done."

Its true and they had nothing to lose when they started except their dreams.

But, what did they had in them or have with them? How will they survive in their potential market? Were they capable to becoming a name or in business terms "brand"?

Louis started his career as an standup comedian.

In his early days Louis, due to his limited budget and small shows in hand hired an intern Dave to take care of his personal appointments, call bookings, hotel bookings etc.

Once there was a show booked for Louis in an location where standup comedy didn't mean much so he was finding it difficult to sell the tickets for his show.

Dave, an marketing graduate requested Louis to take charge of his ticket sales and guaranteed a complete fill up for the show.

Even Dave found the task near to impossible.

Then the big thing happened.

On the big day when Louis arrived at the auditorium entrance what did he see, its complete sell out of the show.

Louis, gave one of the best performance of his life and got an standing ovation from the crowd.

After the show Louis got surrounded by media people and from them he came to know that more than half of the tickets were distributed free among media people.

Louis asked for a quick explanation from Dave "what's going on mate?"

Dave was on verge of getting Fired!

But Louis kept his belief in Dave.

Even Dave was doing his best to get more recognition for Louis.

Next day everything changed, Louis saw the coverage of his show in newspapers, tv shows which showed awesome ratings of his full house show.

Suddenly there were lots of enquiries for new shows.

Louis now became a household name, he became a brand.

Louis got to understand that Dave had been doing personal branding for him.

New enquiries, new business opportunities in new locations and new sponsors for his show.

Now Dave is personal manager of Louis, and Louis an top standup comedian in his country.

Here in this case, one talent showed his belief in another potential talent resulting in growth and success for both of them.

Potential is a talent work in progress.
