Is Leadership Feminine or Masculine?

The biggest misconception of feminine & masculine qualities is that they are GENDER SPECIFIC.

Not true!

Men and Women contain both, feminine and masculine qualities (energies) and this can be leveraged to succeed, but without the right tools it can also become one’s biggest weakness. It’s time we treat this topic with maturity and education which are required in order to achieve extraordinary results in Leadership & Performance. 

Men and Women who understand and apply the qualities of feminine and masculine in various areas professionally and personally become the agile LEADERS and BUSINESS OWNERS who:

? Create world leading organisations with thriving cultures and loyal teams successfully 

? Become high performers who achieve high calibre results in their career, health & relationships 

? Stop self-sabotage and start LIVING and LEADING from a place of CONNECTION, PASSION & PURPOSE. 

On the other hand, people who are unaware of this subject are often incapable to achieve their greatest desires or unfortunately end up destroying what is truly important to them. 

We naturally have a leading energy which reflects our inner nature and values, but there is more to it..

Unconsciously, in times of high stress, adversity or when needing to perform, we default to one type of energy, either feminine or masculine in multiple areas of life.

In fact these default operational mechanisms are LEARNED. Unless there is an awareness around unconscious behaviours, we stay in one type of energy because this is what we learned, this is what is familiar

  • in childhood: to be seen, heard and acknowledged
  • in career: to have authority, to be recognised, to succeed.

It is our basic human need to BE LOVED & to BELONG which drives our perception of what we need to DO and who we need to BE in order to have this particular need met. 

There is another aspect of human behaviour which is necessary to mention. We tend to hide behind multiple layers of behaviours which we continue to create from birth in order to protect ourselves away from physical and emotional pain and trauma. The more fabricated layers we have, the slimmer the chances of getting hurt again - this is an unconscious process.

If you are beginning to recognise that this could be a helpful area to explore let me give you some of the most common signs which could be SYMPTOMS of default behaviours and lack of awareness around feminine and masculine energy:

  1. You find it difficult to COMMUNICATE with others especially when conducting DIFFICULT CONVERSATIONS or when needing to express your own EMOTIONS and show EMPATHY towards others. You stay away from vulnerability when possible. 
  2. You have hit the glass ceiling unable to achieve the next milestone in your career. Some approaches which worked in the past no longer produce desired outcomes or you continue facing repetitive challenges in career/ business as if the same problem was continuing to reoccur. You are going in CIRCLES. 
  3. You haven’t been doing a great job at LISTENING to your BODY. You are not prioritising your emotional, physical or mental health as much as, deep down, you know you should. You know you self-sabotage yet you cannot seem to be able to change your daily priorities.

I am delighted to now introduce you to masculine and feminine qualities.

MASCULINE: centred, focused, single task oriented, purpose driven, problem solver, loves a challenge, competitive, makes big things small, forgets, needs admiration and appreciation, wants to be needed and respected. 

FEMININE: flowing, open, radiant, destructive, emotions driven, nurturer, multitasker, makes small things big, remembers, gatherer, needs reassurance and attention, wants trust, connection, praise.

It’s only when you master the AWARENESS of all qualities of feminine and masculine and implement them intentionally you will become a HIGH ACHIEVER and an EXCEPTIONAL LEADER personally and professionally.

Imagine being able to execute daily actions, to achieve large targets, to accomplish tasks, to make groundbreaking decisions with certainty, to be unapologetically directional as well as being able to communicate well in all scenarios, to be empathetic, to collaborate to expand success, to enjoy the process of achievement, to find the right people to support your visions, to be able to experience flow of success rather constant struggle and resistance, and maybe even know how to use your intuition.. Would you call that a success?

What if I told you, as an addition, that it's the fluidity between masculine and feminine which allows us to create the most loving, meaningful, intimate and close relationships. Would you call that a success?

Exceptional Leadership & Performance are built on the adaptation to changing conditions. Various scenarios at work and in your personal life will require you to draw from feminine and masculine energy in order to achieve satisfactory outcomes long term.

When I think about gender equality the idea comes to mind. Gender equality begins within. It begins with every single and each of us accepting and embracing the feminine and masculine qualities within first.

Unconditional inclusion of all internal parts of ourselves is the first step to exponential personal and professional growth, for the parts which we exclude in ourselves are the parts which we discriminate in others.

Neither Respect both the masculine and the feminine, and release from judgement. There is not one way to lead or be.
