• NO MORE RISKY BUSINESS: One of the questions we are most frequently asked is about how to build an environment of psychological safety for your team. Dave took a closer look at the concept of creating an environment in which people feel safe and the role it plays in supporting high-performing teams.
• HOW TO MAP YOUR STRATEGY: Matt’s earlier post on the importance of making a strategy-on-a-page got such a great response from our followers, he shared tips for a workshop exercise in which teams can physically map the connections?between business activities to bring the strategy to life and demonstrate the contribution each activity makes to its delivery.
• SINK OR SWIM: Have you heard of ‘accidental managers’? Dave shared an article from HR magazine that referred to previous research by the Chartered Management Institute showing 82%?of those who enter management positions have not had any proper management and leadership training. Take a look at the full study if you have time: it’s particularly heartening to read of “the consistent link between strong, highly trained managers and more effective organisations”.
• START LOGGING THOSE HOURS: Providing evidence of the value of our learning programmes is vital; the time and money organisations spend on developing their existing and next generations of leaders is an investment choice that needs to be justified.
