What’s your superpower??My superpower is bringing clarity to complexity and transforming abstract ideas into actionable solutions. As an employee experience leader, I thrive in the intersection of creativity, strategy, and collaboration. Whether it’s uncovering insights through generative research or co-creating innovative solutions with teams, I’m passionate about translating human needs into meaningful change.

When and how did you discover your passion for design thinking??Over a decade ago, my journey in design thinking began as part of my personal recovery from perfectionism. I was first introduced to design thinking by my mentor and advisor, Dr. Monica Tracey. From the start, I was captivated by how the human-centered approach shifted my mindset from seeking perfect answers to embracing curiosity, iteration, and learning through failure.

What is your favorite design thinking resource or hack??One of my go-to resources is?Creative Confidence?by Tom Kelley and David Kelley. I used this book while teaching design thinking in a graduate program at Wayne State University. Every time my students read just the first chapter, they’d come back saying, “I see design completely different now.” It’s a game changer—not only for understanding methods but for fostering a mindset rooted in creativity and experimentation.

What does being part of the HR.Hackathon Alliance community look and feel like to you??Being part of the HR.Hackathon Alliance community feels like joining a collective movement to re-imagine HR. It’s a vibrant, collaborative space where creativity and impact converge. It’s inspiring to be surrounded by people who believe that better experiences for employees lead to better outcomes for organizations.

Design Thinking Habit Nudge

“I would love to know how to best make space for design thinking; I think this takes a lot of intent, so any tips on how to incorporate it into your normal day in small increments would be more than appreciated.”

This is a question we get a lot. So, today we thought we'd share a little exercise to get you started.

?? EVERYONE IS A DESIGNER ?? Everyone can be a designer. Re-decorating your living room is designing. Experimenting with a new recipe is designing. Creating a piece of art is designing.

1 Minute Exercise: Think about all areas of your life: work, family, hobbies, etc. and come up with a list of 3 areas where you are a designer. Now, reflect on how you might apply that creativity to what you do in Human Resources.
