As a scrum master, I am certain all of us are faced few typical challenges related to the below areas.. in Any Scrum Master profile, we will come across below expectation

- Scrum master need to Cultivate trust through personal and team relationships

- Being a self-starter
- Highly effective relationship management skills,
- Outstanding at organization and facilitation skills
- Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on healing and problem-solving.

All these are extremely polished soft skills, evolved over years of experience, no school teaches all these soft skills! Only life schools develop these skills.
In any Scrum Master job interview, I have noticed people invariably ask scenarios based questions around these topics. They seek to uncover how as individuals we have dealt with such soft skills and the scenarios. e.g
- Explain to me when you faced challenges related to team self-organization, what action you took to ensure the team establishes self-organization? Give an example
- What few actions you have taken to ensure the product owner who does not know anything about agile ways of working, transformed to the agile brand ambassador?
- What action you have taken to ensure ego clash, conflicts, Individuals' hero started working as one team?
What I have observed, to achieve all these, we need to first be good coaches for our own. As an individual, we have to polish our soft skills considerably.
Only book knowledge will not empower us to develop into skilled at all this skill advancement.
Years of conscious action with many experiments will enable us to grow into an excellent Scrum Mastery.
The question comes, what are activities we should try to polish these skills?
What I have observed after working with many excellent scrum master
- They are conscious about their “self”. They recognize what are their strengths and weakness.
- They are open and vulnerable
- They have a solid foundation in technology or subject they are dealing with. They are steadily improving knowledge and skill on that subject.
- They are curious and research a lot to bridge any gaps
- They are a passionate and hard worker
- They never think they know all and always experiment to discover more
- They are genuine and never cut corner to prove something
- They are humble and willing to accept that they do not know
When someone refined their mind and thoughts are improved, excellence is on their way

I mentioned what are the various factors we need to consider becoming better.
What I have observed this is a journey, and there is absolutely no shortcut to gaining these skills.
Good scrum masters are genuine, they do not show overconfidence. They recognize how the right mindset helped them to get along with all the team members with servant leadership traits. As Individual contributors, all of us are exercising our knowledge power. There is no position power in the way forward and upcoming days.
We stand on our own capabilities, if this is less we lose respect, credibility.
