Much has been written about the impact of leadership in achieving success, but there is one common theme that leaders agree with; to attain business excellence, optimize, and maximize the outcome, you must have a constant commitment to the goal, and the goal can only be achieved with strict adherence to execution. And yes, execution does need forethought, planning, and a vision, so keeping that in mind, let's pursue the competency of "Results and Execution Driven."
Some quotes to bring us in alignment. Success requires execution!
Brian Tracy said, “Be intensely result-oriented in everything you do. This is a key characteristic."
Hubert H. Humprey once said, “More progress results from the violent execution of an imperfect plan than the perfection of a plan to violently execute.”
Leadership Mastery
No one acquires Influential Leadership Mastery and Competitive Leadership Competency by sitting in a classroom. That’s the place to gain historical knowledge and specific technical skills, but your real-world actions will teach you what works and what doesn’t work, and give you the confidence to tackle increasingly difficult challenges.
Taking action creates experiences, memories, and outcomes that will give you feedback, confirmations, and results that will help you keep learning and achieving. It takes execution!
Overcoming Fear Via Commitment and Action
The only way to overcome the fear of success (or failure) is to rise up against it. Do something and focus on execution!
As Dale Carnegie said, “Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage. If you want to conquer fear, do not sit at home and think about it. Go out and get busy.”
No matter where you start in life or where you are now, you can make proactive strides to build your leadership reputation and make the first move toward what I have coined “Influential Leadership Mastery.” It’s a process that takes time and commitment, but if you’re sincere and you stick with it, significant results are virtually guaranteed.

Trust is a Required Element to Get Results
One final hallmark and mention of an influential leader who gets results from his or her organization is creating a foundation of trust. He or she who develops trust with their colleagues and subordinates will find that trust is reciprocated. Important to note, the virtue of trust does not come automatically; it must be nurtured over time. Nobody wants to work with someone they can't trust. Ultimately, It takes trust to place your career and success in the hands of another person so make trust the focus and priority.
Summary and Takeaway.
Leaders need to confront and manage the big-picture issues. But the most audacious and ambitious plans mean nothing without the steady and sometimes boring delivery of solid results, every day, week, month, quarter, and year. This is where dreaming and doing intersect. You can’t have one without the other.

11 个月For many, the leap to action is anxiety. Many forms of self doubt and hesitation. As you mentioned in your article, "As Dale Carnegie said, “Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage. If you want to conquer fear, do not sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy.” " It is always that first step, sometimes numerous tries over, to really get a grasp on your commitment. Lots of great advice in the article!

1 年I agree Gary. Leaders must be driven to meet or exceed specific goals and objectives as quickly as possible. Focused on results, not just the process, and willing to leverage available resources and solve problems creatively to get the job done.

1 年Thanks for sharing Gary C Laney. Most leaders fail because they lack a sharpness in their ability to execute or are distracted from focusing on delivery excellence.
