Leadership Coaching

Leadership Coaching

Why is Coaching important in today’s world and what would you classify as effective coaching?

Today, we live in a world that is increasingly Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous (#VUCA). For individuals and organisations this means, being far more alert, agile, responsive and performance focused to achieve goals.

With the daily effort needed to balance personal and work life, individuals can easily lose focus and #motivation, or at times even feel mentally strained. #Coaching is a highly effective way for individuals to be able to focus and improve their performance, overcome obstacles and achieve their goals.

#Coaching is a powerful tool that helps develop an individual’s or team’s capacity to perform better, improving their effectiveness, both at work and in their personal space.

#Effectivecoaching has some underlying foundations:

  1. Ensuring a healthy, trustworthy and professional relationship between the #Coach and his/her #Coachee.
  2. Creating a listening space that allows for greater understanding and appreciation by the #Coach to his/her #Coachee.
  3. Co-relating instances of challenges allows #Coachees greater freedom to express themselves, bring clarity in their thinking and making them more self-aware.
  4. Capturing the Coachee’s coaching journey via apps that allow for reflection and learning.
  5. Using various #Toolkits to help structure the challenges so that the #Coachee can work towards the actions to help them develop.

Let us first understand who a Coach and Coachee are.

‘Coachee’ is a term used to describe individuals who are seeking #coaching to help overcome specific challenges or obstacles, support and improve their personal or professional #performance, or may be part of a team or organisation that is receiving coaching to improve their collective performance.

A ‘Coach’ works with the coachee to identify their goals and objectives and to develop a customised #coaching plan that is tailored to their specific needs and circumstances. By working with a coach, coachees can gain valuable insights and feedback, learn new skills and strategies and receive ongoing support as they work towards their objectives.
