  1. Great article with some fresh thoughts on building a culture of innovation from David Schonthal at Kellogg via Kellogg Insights: Innovation Requires an Environment of Creative Risk . I love the dichotomy between 'innovation theater' and 'true innovation.'?
  2. How well do you really know yourself? Another fantastic article with some always interesting FBI tie-ins from former agent LaRae Quy: How Authentic Leaders Make a Greater Impact with Greater Self-Awareness. Love this quote from LaRae: "Ignorance of your competition makes you vulnerable. Ignorance of yourself makes you stupid."?
  3. ?Medium is increasingly a go-to site for great writers/thinkers and those of us interested in soaking up ideas. They have a free signup option and a paid subscription model. It's worth sharing your e-mail address to gain the insights of Roger L. Martin, the former Dean of the Rotman School of Management and one of my favorite strategy thinkers. If you're game for the signup, check out The Five Deadliest Strategy Myths (and his many other articles on strategy).?
  4. My favorite short read this week is from former USAF Jumpmaster Tanya Chavez: Use Fear as a Compass via LinkedIn. I love the theme and I oddly love doing things that scare the heck out of me! Those events promote eustress. It's the mundane that generates distress for me. What's that thing you fear that is really important to you? It's time to stand in the door and jump!?
  5. A fabulous perspective on the 'passion at work' topic: Are you sacrificing passion to fit in at work? by Alaina Love via SmartBrief on Leadership.?

Just One Thing from Art:?We navigated a tornado in our lake community just a few weeks ago. It's these events and the responses from the people around you that make you realize how powerful it is when we come together to help each other. We all do really get by with help from our friends and neighbors. (While tree and structure damage was widespread, we are thankful that, amazingly, no one was hurt.)?
