LEADERSHIP IS NOT ABOUT BEING PERFECT.

LEADERSHIP IS NOT ABOUT BEING PERFECT.

Leadership is not about being perfect. It's about being honest, transparent, and willing to learn from our mistakes. In today's world, where the pressure to succeed is high and the consequences of failure are severe, it's important to understand that perfection is an illusion. No one is perfect, and no one can be perfect all the time. The sooner we accept this fact, the better we can become as leaders.

Being transparent and honest is an important trait of leadership that breeds trust. People want to work with Transparent Honest and Trustworthy (THT) leaders. A leader who is honest and transparent is one who is willing to share information, good or bad, with their team. They are willing to admit when they are wrong and when they make mistakes. When a leader is transparent, they create a culture of trust and transparency, which can help their team to be more innovative, creative, and productive.

Onene way of becoming a THT Leader is creating a culture of continuous improvement.?People are sensitive to feedback yet they want to grow, so it becomes a tricky balance.?What I do in the places I serve, every activity, project or program is sandwiched in two Ds a Dry run and Debrief session.?During the dry run team players get a chance to contribute ideas on how to carry out the task. After completion, key players have a debrief where everyone gets to share what worked and what didn’t work and notes are taken and applied?next time.?It sounds time consuming, but it develops transparency and trust where “failure” is dealt with sooner than later without pointing fingers.

THT Leadership is also about being willing to learn from our mistakes. No one is perfect, and everyone makes mistakes.

It's how we deal with those mistakes that matter. This method shows the team that it's okay to make mistakes and that the important thing is to learn from the mistakes and move forward. It actually creates a culture of ocontinuous improvement and encourages the team to take risks and try new things, knowing that mistakes will happen along the way. By doing so, we?foster a culture of innovation and creativity, where everyone is encouraged to share their ideas and try new things.

In conclusion, THT leadership is about being transparent, honest, trustworthy. Transparency and honesty will foster trust with your team, which can lead to a more productive and innovative work environment. And by being willing to learn from your mistakes, you can create a culture of continuous improvement, where everyone is encouraged to take risks and try new things. So, don't strive for perfection. Instead, strive to be a leader who is honest, transparent, and willing to learn from their mistakes. Become a THT Leader!
