Happy Monday.
Right now, I'm working on building a team culture behaviour blueprint for a client. One behaviour that they've collectively agreed is paramount to their success is 'Earn Trust.' Leaders and teams that get results do so on the foundation of trust. Without trust, relationships won't flourish and neither will bottom lines.
Here's your leadership behaviour, action and coaching question ...
Leadership Behaviour
To what extent do I: Deliver on my promises.

Taking Action
According to trust researchers Mayer, Davis and Schoorman, trust is defined as the "willingness of a party to be vulnerable to the action or another party based on the expectation that the other will perform a particular action important to the trustor." What this means is when someone decides to trust you they are willing to be vulnerable ... to open themselves up to your actions. So to earn someone's trust you must be reliable, keep your promises and communicate quickly if you're having trouble delivering on your commitments.
Notice how well you do in these 3 areas. If you find you're faltering in any of them, ask the other party how you can improve to ensure you have their trust going forward.
Coaching Question:
Do I ask others' if I've earned their trust?
