Leaders, Are You Truly An Alpha?

What Alpha Really Means
What does being an alpha mean? Usually, as far as people go, it’s the leader of a pack of bullies, whether they are in high school or running a corporate office. Calling this type of person an alpha is actually pretty disrespectful to nature, though. A true alpha is a leader who is charismatic, empathetic, confident, and tends to the needs of their group. Let’s respect nature and redefine what an alpha is in human society — and then strive to be that if we’re called to lead.

4 年Nice, short to the point. Joslyn?A true leader is always willing to stand in the wings working hard and then step up when necessary at the helm. There is never given a second thought, Alpha is a natural position and when done with graciousness, the leader is a true leader by way of power and humility. All 3 components come into play.? 5 年Joslyn Wolfe I agree. Build up the pack & look out for the whole. Each member has a role & it's intertwined with each & every other one to survive. Gary Vaynerchuk. Claude Silver

5 年Brilliant post, alpha implies ‘better than’, but you only have to observe our species to see that us mammals operate in tribes, it takes all members of the tribe to work together, the tribes who last the longest care for each other and don’t see their members as disposable. Thinking out loud now ..... the rise and fall of the great world empires; was their decline triggered by the perception that some members were better than others? And the ‘others’ were disposable? I’d love to research this further. Can we see this today with current world events ??? Thanks Helen Edwards
