Leadership is a Responsibility, Not a Privilege
In any organization, senior leaders have a fundamental responsibility: to nurture and prepare juniors as the next generation of leaders. True leadership is about mentorship, guidance, and creating a legacy that outlives individual contributions.
However, when seniors engage in politics that push juniors to leave, the damage goes beyond individuals. While the junior may move on and the senior may remain unaffected in the short term, the real loss is to the organization. The trust, investment, and faith the management placed in its leaders are eroded.
If neither party takes a step back to resolve conflicts or align with the organization's vision, the institution itself suffers. An organization that has supported its people over the years deserves leadership that uplifts and unites, not divides and diminishes.
Remember: "Leadership isn’t about climbing the ladder alone; it’s about building the ladder for others to climb."
Let’s strive to be leaders who inspire, empower, and leave organizations stronger than we found them.
