This week on The Weekly Walkaway is a subject very close to my heart.

A lot of attention in corporate is put on developing leadership communication skills. However, very little focus is made on the hard skills of negotiation. Unless, of course, those leaders are in a commercial role that requires commercial negotiation.

The skills of good communication and Negotiation do, of course, overlap; however, as with anything, the devil is in the detail. So without further ado, let's get to it...

TACTIC OF THE WEEK

Involves deliberately remaining silent during a negotiation to elicit a response or advantage from the other party.
