This week, I received a text message from a long-time mentor, leader, and close friend. In many ways, it epitomizes the mindset of today's leaders.?I quote.
"I pull away when times get desperate. I did that."
Like falling dominoes, today's leaders are under fire and are pulling away in record numbers, which may be approaching cataclysmic levels. But remember, where there is struggle, there is also equal opportunity. Some current research on the topic follows.

Many of us, at times, self-included, feel like throwing in the towel, especially when leading a team at the director level or leading an organization. These are trying economic times, for sure. What with layoffs, attrition and turnover, a lack of quality employee pool, increased expenses, and a lack of work-life balance, it's not difficult to fathom.
If that's you, if you feel like quitting or giving it up, Let me ask you a question.

If not you, then who?
