Hi there,?
It’s great to have you back for the second edition of 'Leading With Precision' series.?
If you’re just joining us, you’re in for something special because today, we'll be digging into your leadership toolkit to reveal the secret weapon that you may have overlooked.
What is the secret weapon??
Let’s be honest: leading in any capacity can be quite challenging, but the result is incredibly rewarding. To be an exceptional leader, you need to lead with both your head and heart. Emotional Intelligence is the secret weapon that turns you from a good leader into a great leader.?
Emotional Intelligence (EI) is being able to perceive, understand, and manage your emotions and those of others. EI helps you connect to others and guide you on how to empower and provide them with adequate support.?
Just like a river, a wise and intentional leader should know when to flow with force and when to allow the current to carry.?
The wisdom to discern and make the right call transforms not just how you lead but how others follow your leadership.?
Imagine being a leader who understands her team to a point where she can sense their unspoken issues and respond with empathy. A leader who doesn't only make rational decisions but balances them with empathy. Earning trust, respect, and loyalty from your team would be a walk in the park.?
Tripod of Emotional Intelligence (EI) Every Leader Should Master
1. Self- Awareness: Leadership starts from within not without. Recognize your emotions and understand how they influence your decisions and actions, which in turn affects others. Know your strengths, limitations, and how to play on it.?

According to research suggested by Harvard Business Review,? self-awareness builds confidence and helps you make sound decisions.?
2. Self-Management: Mastering the art of staying calm under pressure, adapting to change, taking tough decisions, and making tough calls are functions of self-management.? Self-management is the ability to control your emotions and give the right reactions in situations. Leaders who control their emotions easily adapt to changes.?
3. Relationship Management: Relationship Management is about mastering the practical application of the first two pillars -- self-awareness and self- Management in building and maintaining strong connections with others. A master in Relationship Management knows how to lead with empathy, motivate others, resolve conflict, foster team and collaboration, and inspire others.?
By listening, communicating, and providing constructive feedback, you build positive relationships.?
As you lead, think of how to use Emotional Intelligence (EI) in your daily interactions. Listen as much as you speak, don't let your mood affect the way you interact and lead others. The way you manage your emotions can inspire others to be resilient and focused.?
