Leaders Retreat Gets Name Change
Manhattan Area Chamber Of Commerce
A nonprofit organization working to support the business development of MHK to make it a better place to live and work.
As we take a moment to reflect on this day, I would like to personally thank all our veterans who gave so much so we can continue to live in this great country. We honor your sacrifice and are grateful for your service.
As we start to look forward to the new year, I wanted to take a moment to make you aware of a change in the name of one of our more popular programs. The annual Regional Leaders Retreat has been changed to the Regional Growth Summit. It is scheduled for Jan. 24 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Manhattan Conference Center.
?
This change has been made for a few key reasons. First, the event is now going to be held annually in Manhattan on one day meaning it is less of a retreat than when it was two days in Kansas City. Second, we don’t want people to feel excluded by how they may arbitrarily define “leadership”. We intend for the event to be open to everyone, members, and non-members alike, and don’t want the name to imply something different.
?
Finally, as you know, we are micro focused on growth and growth initiatives. By making the focus of this annual event on economic development and economic prosperity, we can have an annual discussion about ways to improve our quality of life across the entire Manhattan region, including Pottawatomie and Geary Counties.
?
Registration is already open here ?and our partners at the Wamego Chamber of Commerce and Junction City Chamber of Commerce will have registration opportunities as well.
?
We are putting together this year’s agenda which we believe will begin real discussions on real solutions to some of our more pressing economic challenges. Hopefully you can make time to attend.
