?? Hello everyone,
Sun Tzu said, "A leader leads by example, not by force."
Here are three resources you might have missed:
?? Book Summary:
This week's book is "The Art of War" by Sun Tzu.
Read this book if you are looking for one of the oldest strategies for warfare, managing people, and maintaining composure under pressure. This ancient text offers surprisingly profound insights that remain relevant in today’s competitive world.
One of my favorite takeaways from the book is this:
"The general who advances without coveting fame and retreats without fearing disgrace, whose only thought is to protect his country and do good service for his sovereign, is the jewel of the kingdom. Regard your soldiers as your children, and they will follow you into the deepest valleys; look upon them as your own beloved sons, and they will stand by you even unto death."
? Actionable advice:
United States Senator Robert Byrd asked one question in November 2000 when he met the newly appointed State representative of New York, Hillary Rodham Clinton: "Are you a workhorse or a showhorse?" Sun Tzu had no sympathy for ego, and neither does your team. Lead with selflessness, integrity, and trust. Extend the same respect and compassion to each team member as you would to your family. This is the way to foster a loyal, dedicated, result-oriented team.
