Leaders Prioritise Business Performance Amid Evolving Challenges in APAC
Last month, senior executives gathered at our Asia Leadership Retreat to unravel key challenges shaping the regional business landscape. Our latest Asia Research highlighted that while the economic outlook in Asia remains more optimistic when compared to the global environment, leaders are acutely aware of their pivotal role in capitalising on opportunities amid market complexities.?
Remarkably, our findings underscore that improved business performance stands as the number one priority for leaders in APAC. This imperative highlights a strategic shift, as leaders recognise the necessity of not just navigating challenges but actively seeking ways to elevate their organisations.?
Against this backdrop, leadership capability has taken the spotlight as the primary risk to organisations. With only 27 percent expressing full confidence in their senior team's ability to navigate strategic uncertainty, there is a clear call to action for enhancing leadership skills to meet evolving challenges.?
Furthermore, the need for alignment among top executives emerged as the paramount area for improvement. A significant 56 percent lacked confidence in possessing the right fusion of technology and talent to outperform competitors in the next 12 months, emphasising the urgency to address these gaps for sustained success.?
As we approach 2024, recognising and rectifying these challenges becomes imperative. On a positive note, leaders acknowledged their reliance on external reference points and highlighted the positive impact of mentoring on their leadership outlook and capabilities.?
