Leaders Look Within –?Chapter 1 - Owning My Heart

Introduction...I am writing to you to tell you about a newsletter I am creating based on my recent book. I am going to walk through the chapters and share some reflections from the book in hopes that you will find?peace, love, ?joy, hope, clarity, strength, love or whatever it is that you need today to own your heart to lead yourself and others. ?The Newsletter will have the following sections

• What is happening and dealing with right now in this moment?

• One highlighted part of each chapter

What is Happening Right Now

Right now, I am experiencing one of the busiest, most impactful summers of my life. It is a summer for me to remember. So much is happening with two daughters getting married this summer, other family weddings, new grandchildren and lots of time spent with catching up with friends we haven't been with since pre-covid. At work, we continue to work on goals and expectations for 2023, and we are seeing success. We have our eye on the events of the world and we continue to persevere. I am grateful for the great clients and staff we have to help us continue to keep our business going.

There is a lot of uncertainty and weirdness in the world, but I believe this is the time when I turn to prayer and faith in God to lower the pressure and noise and continue to be resilient to be there for the purpose of serving others.

Book news - I am getting ready to record an audible version of the book to be released this fall. More news to come in the following weeks.

Reflection

What is in your heart today?

Today my heart is filled with joy. I am experiencing the joy of two daughters getting married this summer. I am thinking and reflecting a lot on my daughters and praying for them on this big occasion. It is my fourth wedding overall this summer. There is such newness and freshness that comes when two people come together with God as the center.

I am also praying for those going through tough times, situations, relationships, health challenges and just feeling alone.

Have you wondered why you are going to work each day?

This question used to trigger me. Today, I cannot wait to get up, get going and be ready. It all changed when I discovered my why and how. “I am a person of faith who coaches people up and leads from the heart”. This statement was transforming for me when I discovered it, took it to heart and decided to live it every day.

What are you grateful for today?

I am grateful to God and His love each day. My desire is to start the day with a clean heart. I am grateful for my wife, Michele and family. I am grateful for my first breath each morning and the freedom to begin the day in prayer and routine. ?I am grateful for the people I am surrounded by and the wonderful opportunity to live a life of faith at home and at work.

Chapter 1 Highlight - The Peace of Mind You Deserve

The last sentence in this chapter was the real key for me. Having a heart of gratitude is a life-changer. It takes owning your heart by knowing what is in it and how to effectively live with it. I believe the heart is so essential and when we live from a place of gratitude, we literally see things in a whole new light. From here we start to really understand ourselves better which gives us the peace of mind to live a purposeful meaningful life. It truly is the life each and everyone of us deserves.
