Leaders are lonely too (they just don’t talk about it)??

I remember the times when I felt lonely, even when I "had it all," and I felt so much shame. I didn't tell anyone about it.

Here's why I think that is.

We think of loneliness as being socially isolated, but what if you feel lonely AND you’re surrounded by great people?

That must mean you’ve failed at social connection, right?

WRONG.

According to a recent study in Norway, loneliness is one of the top 5 issues among leadership. But no likes to admit it.

If you resonate, you might find solace in?US Surgeon General?Dr. Vivek Murthy’s address?last week, in which he stated that one out of two Americans struggle with loneliness.

As in half the US population!

I spoke with the talented journalist Inger Lise Kontochristos at LEDERNYTT about this recently, and about what we can do about it.

Here’s a summary:

1?? Learn how to deactivate your survival mode, so that you can reconnect with YOU and access all your untapped resources.

2?? Build confidence - because unworthiness and loneliness go hand in hand.

3?? Find a way to help one person every day. Contribution makes us feel seen, heard, and valued.

4?? Build relationship - make every social encounter meaningful, even if it lasts 30 seconds.

When was the last time you felt lonely? I'd love to hear from you!

With love,

–Unni

PS:?I’ve helped numerous successful women fully utilize the power of human connection and get what they want in life (better relationships, promotions, jobs, equitable divorce settlements, etc). I’m now looking for a few more. Want to chat?
