Leaders of Francophone Africa gripped by fear, strengthen their own security

Leaders of #Francophone #Africa are in state of panic following a series of #coups that toppled their peers in #Mali, #BurkinaFaso, #Guinea, #Niger and now #Gabon. Last week, #Rwanda’s President Paul Kagame announced the retirement of hundreds of military personnel and appointed new generals to lead army divisions stationed across the country.

In #Cameroon, President Paul Biya, who has been in power for over 40 years, maintaining power with brutality, made new appointments at the Defense Ministry’s central administrative unit.
