A Leader's Faith in the Fiery Furnace

I am a grateful man not a self-made man. For you see, nobody is self-made. Our success is not only a sum of all our thoughts and actions, but the combined efforts of people that impacted our lives. Our success is not only attributed to those that supported, encouraged, and mentored us. Often, our greatest success comes from the life-lessons of those who have done us wrong. None of us are immune to adversity—it will strike at some point in everyone’s life. The choice you have is will you become bitter or better. I believe adversity is a set-up for a step-up. It took me years to learn to embrace the struggles as a gift, but I now realize that our greatest lessons often spring-forth from difficult situations. It is the refining furnace that purifies our minds and our souls.  Adversity purges our lives of things that are insignificant and helps us to shift our priorities to the things that matter most.

If you are facing adversity right now, begin to shift your perspective and ask yourself, how can this adversity bless me? What positive outcome could result from this adversity? Use your pain as a catalyst to propel you forward—to a new level. When you learn to change your perspective, it become a buffer against the stresses of life. A healthy
