Most would rather play it safe than ruffle any feathers.
On some occasions, self-doubt and insecurities get the best of us.
Occasions where we need someone other than ourselves to align with our views, when we want to impress others, or build a relationship.
Except, keeping our heads down and going with the flow can result in missed opportunities.
Opportunities that might be uncomfortable that result in growth – something new to be learned about yourself, a new skill or behavior to practice, to challenge yourself, to go another route, to find your voice.
Our voice is what makes us unique.
Our voice is our identity which decides what we want, what we like, what we believe, etc.
It’s not something to conform.
It’s not easy going against the flow.
It’s something that takes courage and courage takes practice.
Being courageous doesn’t mean that you are fearless, it means you act anyway because it’s important.
It’s something everyone can practice.
It’s something people notice.
It shows leadership.
Passion is what drives leaders to be courageous; to take a stand.
Authentic leaders are passionate about their values.
They demonstrate their beliefs and behave consistently according to them, even if it means standing alone.
At least alone you’ll know for a fact it was your decision, and not someone else’s.
