Leaders and Community of Practice
Mental Health Coalition of South Australia
The Mental Health Coalition of South Australia is the peak body for the non-government mental health sector in SA.
Did you know that every 6 weeks, LEWP hosts an online Community of Practice for Line Managers and Leaders of the Lived Experience Workforce?
The purpose of our group is to enhance effective leadership within the Lived Experience Workforce through the sharing of knowledge and collective wisdom. By fostering an environment where insights are shared, we aim to contribute significantly to the ongoing growth and development of the Lived Experience Workforce in SA.
Central to this initiative is the co-production of the LEWP NGO Mental Health Standards and Guidelines. This tool supports the recruitment, retention, and professional development of Lived Experience/Peer workers. Aligned with National Lived Experience Workforce Development Guidelines, these standards are integral to scaling the workforce in accordance with statewide and national strategies.
Line managers and workforce leaders collaborate within this community to delve into these Standards and Guidelines systematically. Each standard is unpacked, providing a platform for participants to pose questions, share achievements and obstacles, and co-produce practical tools and resources. This approach ensures effective implementation across diverse organisational settings, promoting a unified approach to supporting the Lived Experience Workforce.
Through this collective effort, the community of practice not only strengthens leadership capabilities but also reinforces the foundation for a resilient and empowered Lived Experience Workforce in South Australia.
