Leaders as Coaches: Transforming Leadership at GanzAfrica
GanzAfrica
Empowering African professionals to create disruptive solutions in land, agriculture, and environment.
At GanzAfrica, we believe that true leadership is about more than just directing others; it’s about empowering them to realize their full potential. This belief was at the heart of our recent "Leaders as Coaches" program, a transformative 3-month training led by Teamcoach International .
Throughout the program, our fellows delved into the art of coaching as a process that emphasizes self-discovery and growth over simply providing answers. This approach to leadership is about asking the right questions, fostering autonomy, and encouraging continuous development within teams.
Here are some of our fellows feedback on the program:
Tinashe Chigwende expressed her excitement about the shift in her leadership style: “This program has completely transformed my approach to leadership. I now understand that coaching isn’t about instructing, it’s about empowering people to find their own solutions. I’m eager to implement these insights to create a thriving team that can make a positive impact.”
For Didier Ngamije the program was a game-changer: “This experience changed how I view coaching. It’s no longer about offering advice, but about collaborating to unlock potential. The techniques I’ve learned have already improved my leadership skills, and I’m committed to continuing this journey of growth.”
Mucyo Ndera Tuyizere highlighted the practical application of coaching: “The opportunity to coach in real-life scenarios has been invaluable. These skills have become part of my daily routine, and I’ve already noticed positive changes in how I contribute to my team. I’m excited to keep growing as a coach.”

Armand Hirwa Musoni shared how his perspective shifted: “Coaching is so much more than just giving advice. It’s about guiding others to discover their own answers. This realization has made me more effective in my leadership role, and I’m looking forward to further developing these skills.”
The program not only taught the theory of coaching but also provided hands-on experience, with each fellow coaching two individuals. This practical application was key to internalizing the coaching mindset, allowing our fellows to immediately begin using these skills in their leadership roles.
We are incredibly proud of the progress our fellows have made and excited to see the positive impact they will have on those around them. A huge thank you to Teamcoach International for their invaluable work and making this transformative experience possible.
Stay tuned for more updates as our fellows continue to apply their newfound coaching skills in their careers, driving positive change across the African continent.
