LEADERCANOE

My next book will focus on the leader in all of us, the leader that is still to emerge and blossom. In this world we are all leaders in some fashion, we just to realize it and accept the process, it is not painful, it should not be a struggle. We can form our skills and passion to be a leader, even if we only lead ourselves. So, my next book is called LEADERCANOE, because the ship is still at the dock waiting on us to arrive as skilled leaders, soon, we will arrive soon.
In the process of all of the leadership conferences I have been at, starting at the age of 16 at UC Davis in California, I have noticed something. This is also true with all of the books I have read, and there have been a lot of them, there is a missing component, and the right questions do not get asked. That is, why are you in leadership, who are you leading, what are you leading, and where are you going?
?This book will investigate all of that. The name is derived due to the fact that when a person “gets” into leadership the are mostly alone, in a canoe, paddling up stream against the current. Not on a ship, a large vessel with many people and many functions and many objectives. There is one, you and the canoe, and you hope you don’t overturns and drown. That is closer to the truth, paddling your canoe looking for safe harbor and the path to the ship.
