As a Leader, what is your personal signature?

When you read or talk about leadership, you will hear a lot of definitions, at the end, in my perspective, it will be based in what you reflect and in your belief; in other words, your conviction on what you believe, as well as your ability to connect with the people will almost make you a leader. If you can do both, then you can say that you have most of the ingredients to be a leader. This does not mean that is all you need, but mostly it will fulfill the recipe.

I believe you need to be truly authentic, so you can guide, care and help growth the people of the team that you lead, as well as be part of it and not only the boss. Few people do it from the bottom of their heart, and for me is a critical factor to succeed. You have to put your skin on the game with them as a team member and be there with them in the moment of truth. When I say your team, I mean the people that follows and believes in you.

But, what differentiate one leader from others?, What is that key component that will make the people of your team remember you from the rest of his/her career?. In my experience, most of the bosses I had (not all of them) that have been true leaders have left their signature in my learning, this has gone from people oriented, customer advocate, excellence in delivery to make sure you do your part in helping your community or country. 

 In my case I love to help people growth and succeed as well as creating long term relations, I base my philosophy on Fred Kofman books, which helps you to be the owner of you own destiny instead of being just an spectator, as well as be conscious enough to enjoy and take advantage of the moment and place you are living every day. If you do it, you will take the most of it, instead of just being on the daily rush of the routine and what you do repeatedly; which will lead you to forget why you are where you are and, why are you there and what you need to accomplish.

I always give my people as a gift the book named "Conscious Business, How to build Values through Values" which reflects the thinking and philosophy I just shared with you. 

So, if you, but most important, for the people that believes that you are a leader, what will be the mark and value that you will leave in them? what is your signature? , What will be the legacy and value you will give to your apprentices and true followers?
