Be a Leader of people.

Be a Leader of people.

'In theory there is no difference between theory and practice, in practice there is'- Yogi Berra.

In the boardroom the executives know best. They make the plans, they know what the customers want and they know what their employees are capable of. But when the plans come in progress not all is going well. The customers want in fact something else and the workforce is not able to deliver.

You know the drill.

It is like a broken record played over and over again. People feel bad, motivation drops and new plans are made to do the same things better this time.

How can this circle been broken? I have been asking myself these question a lot lately. Perhaps the answer lies in accepting that we do not know all. The world changes so fast that the truth shifts constantly. What is hot today is forgotten tomorrow. Predicting becomes difficult especially as it concerns the future.

It is like it is.

So we need leaders who acknowledge. Humble admit that they were wrong in the light of todays events. Not leaders who hide behind desks and blame others. There is no one to blame but there is always a moment to be humble.

It takes a lot of courage to be humble and admit that you were wrong. It reminds me of something Mahatma Gandhi once said:

'The enemy is fear. We think it is hate; but it is fear!'

If a true leaders oversteps this fear, at home, at work or in politics people will forgive them. People will trust them. People will follow them. We all know that we do not know all. Humbly admit. Learn from it. It is human.

Always work hard, be kind and stay humble. Embrace life. Or to quote Shaun Hick:

'I am full of mistakes and imperfections and therefor I am real!'

Do you agree?
