Leader of the Pack: Audi Denver
Over the years since I first founded Wish for Wheels, I’ve been truly impressed with the high-caliber partners who make our mission possible. They run the gamut from small businesses and large corporations – some are based here in Colorado and some are scattered throughout the U.S., but what they all have in common is a deep commitment to the community in which they do business. These organizations take employee engagement, volunteerism, and social responsibility seriously.
One of these partners is Audi Denver.
Known in the cycling world for its commitment to the sport through sponsorship of Primal Audi Denver Cycling Team, the Littleton Twilight Critterion, and the Roll Massif collection of Colorado cycling courses and challenges.
But, Audi Denver’s commitment goes even deeper than that.
Motivated by a desire to help and support the community in a hyper-local way, Audi Denver has sponsored bike builds for the last three years. They also have a unique way of getting both their employees AND customers involved.
This year, for every new car purchased from July 1st through Labor Day, Audi Denver donated a bike and helmet to Wish for Wheels. They were able to donate nearly 200 new bikes and helmets – destined for two local schools: Alice Terry Elementary School and Centennial Elementary School!
“Of all the events we do, the Wish for Wheels bike build is one of the best,” said Heather Mellick, Customer Relationship Manager for Audi Denver.
“When you just write a check to a charity, you’re less involved and it can be difficult for our employees to feel the connection between the work they do and how it enables us to give back. When you actually build bikes and personally deliver them directly to the kids, you can feel the impact.”
The team – and all of its new customers who supported the cause – are invited to come out for the Audi Denver bike build and giveaway coming up on the 18th of September.
Plus, Audi Denver is graciously hosting the upcoming Wish for Wheels Block Party on October 18th at their dealership and showroom in Littleton. The event is a chance for partners and the general public to support Wish for Wheels at our annual fundraiser.
Come on down to check out the beautiful Audi Denver indoor and outdoor space, bid on live and silent auction items, and support Wish for Wheels’ mission to transform the lives of children in low-income neighborhoods with the gift of a new bike and helmet.
