A leader indeed

A leader indeed

A leader indeed- TM Srishti Hada

In almost all textbooks, we, at least once in a lifetime have come across a phrase that says “Man is a social animal.” Like the other basic human needs like food, clothes and shelter, humans also require a hospitable social environment. Carried in a variety of ways, a human being is trusted with the knowledge and awareness to have an impactful fellowship with vital responsibilities and duties toward themselves and toward the society.

A leader’s leadership qualities absolutely depend on the periphery that they choose to bound themselves in. Comfort and satisfaction comes only when a person is valued by the surrounding leading towards a positive change with a positive attitude. To share knowledge means to provide opinions, to show long-term visions and to let others be aware of the possible factors that can determine if the piece of work is wrong or right. Well, of course it can be subjective at times but someone’s vision can transform lives. A leader should be the one who accepts honesty and constructive criticism to become the better version.

Toastmasters teaches leaders how to give feedback in a constructive manner, ensuring that it is delivered in a way that encourages growth rather than discourages or demotivates individuals. Leaders learn how to listen actively and provide feedback that is specific, clear, and actionable, making it easier for individuals to make improvements.

By accepting honesty and constructive criticism, leaders become more self-aware and develop a growth mindset. They learn to see feedback as an opportunity to improve and grow, rather than as a threat to their ego or authority. This mindset helps leaders build trust and establish credibility with their team, as they are seen as individuals who are open to feedback and committed to continuous improvement.

Seasons change and so does the behaviour of people. The more you get to know your surroundings, the more you engage socially. At times, democratic approach is required to make a sensitive decision; however, a leader should also impose the power and authority to make certain decisions that require immediate actions. At times, debatable topics can arise leading a person to question him/her previous work or experience. But, one should be confident enough to stick with the decision taken showing that you are a LEADER indeed.
