A Leader On The Ice, And In The Community
If you are a fan of the Ontario Reign, then you have certainly heard of Brett Sutter. Having spent four years with the black and white squad, Sutter has become a household name in Ontario, as well as the team Captain. However, as important as he is to everybody on the ice, he makes just as significant of an impact in the community.
For the third time in his time with the Reign, Sutter was awarded the IOA/American Specialty AHL Man of the Year award. He is certainly a role model for many kids around the are, making appearances at Reign community and team events, as well as jersey auctions.
But, this is not the end of the praise for Sutter, no. With his reception of the IOA/American Specialty award, he resides among 31 finalists for the AHL’s 2019-20 Yanick Dupre Memorial Award. Named after the former Hershey Bears Forward who battled leukemia for 16 months, these are the highest honors of any man in the AHL.
Brett Sutter is someone that you cannot help but to root for, especially when he is having games like his hat trick prior to the suspension of the season. The people are behind you Brett, and they cannot wait to see what you have in store for them in the upcoming seasons.
