Leader of the Future - Starting point

Leader of the Future - Starting point

A new journey started last December when I was informed about my participation in a leadership program 'Scale Your Potential up' my current company, Inetum , was sponsoring at group level. 20 colleagues from different delegations, 18 months ahead, one shared objective, to become Leaders of the Future (LoF).?

At that moment, I could do nothing else but expressing my sincere gratitude for the opportunity as, just being there, both new learning and visibility were ensured. However, I had no idea of the impact that embarking on this journey would have on my career and personal development.

First tasks were then assigned. Can you imagine my surprise when, instead of the classical online course structure with theory and deliverables to start working on, I was asked to complete a 360 Assessment and DiSC personality test. Anyway, 'Be honest', the instructor told us. 'No problem, you know who you are, Nuria', I thought.

'Enthusiast, committed, willing to learn and reinvent myself. Customer experience, adaptation to change, willingness to help, collaboration, respect'. It looked easy, but it was not.?

'Are you really inspiring and empowering people around you? What about managing emotions?' Definitely, fear began to take over me, and everything got worse when first meeting was scheduled. Paris, 5 day-full immersion, leaving comfort zone... What would my performance be like? Would be up to it? Checking other participants' superb LinkedIn profiles did not help at all.??

Wondering what happened? Someone told me a long time ago "If you weren't scared, you wouldn't be human, you wouldn't be brave." More human, more brave, is how I feel now on my return.

It would take me days, weeks even months to share with you all that I learnt, a vital experience that has helped me become more aware of my talents and points for improvement. Instead, I prefer to take this opportunity to thank all the people who have contributed to it.??

Thank you to my leaders Jesus Otero Juan Carlos Crespo Zaragoza Carlos Mu?oz Jean-Fran?ois Gaudy Vincent Rouaix for trusting me and giving me space for starting this adventure. Same to direct report from FabLab by Inetum and others (not least) for their time to provide feedback, it is helping a lot in my self deconstruction process ;) Thanks to Laura Lopez Iglesia Telva Arroyo Cédric THOZ (He/Him) Bruno Da Sola for the great efforts People & Talent does everyday, to contribute to our development.

Thanks to the coaches and trainers from 企顾司 Crescimentum Beatriz Ajenjo Veronica Ahrens Renata Grünthal Janet Tarasofsky José Harper Maia William Pepe , flashbacks from last week still come and I remain impressed by the unbeatable staging of all of them, without whom we would have been lost. Meditation, feedback, team building... definitely, tools to become better.

Thank you to my team there, 'We are leaders, We are NGLs!', and also to the rest of colleagues participating in this first edition of LoF. Feedback exchanged during and after the week will be never enough to be grateful for your kindness, closeness and support. We smiled, we cried...We lost, we won... My partners, my mentors, my leaders, a big thank you.?? OMG Nuria... Where are our tissues? You were so brave! It's amazing to read your article and remember all the moments of that week. It was an honour to be able to be there together with you and see this beautiful process happen.? I really hope this moment reverberates in your lives for a long time to come.? Thank you so much for sharing much more than words. Thank you for sharing your feelings, your emotions and your challenges. Human to human. Love it!

Thanks for sharing this with us Nuria. I can tell you that in the past week you have moved and inspired people around you, and had a positive impact on the whole group. And that just by being yourself, that's very powerful. ?? It seemed your report was right (about your "superwoman" powers) ?? It was such a pleasure going through this first part of our journey together! Already looking forward to the next steps!
