The Leader With a Difference....

The Leader With a Difference....

What really defines a person is his persona and he who has his persona under control possesses the differentiation factor. One can always lash out on subordinates when in utter aggression that has engulfed him/her but what sets that person apart is his anger management, personality composure and the manager's ability to deal with himself/herself to begin with.

Flipping out is the easiest leap one could take not knowing how undesirable the fall can be. You might end up venting out the fiery dragon that must have burnt your patience but seldom do we realize that it has engulfed your ability to decipher the forthcoming consequences. We forego the realization of the existential truth about losing relationships, diminishing respect and and above all exacerbate the possibility of our counterpart to trust us again. We indeed fail them emotionally and that's the biggest loss a manager can afford- the trust that you will safeguard their esteem as a leader.

Thus, its a dire necessity for any leader to be motivational and influential but above all he/she needs to be ever adamant about protecting subordinate's respect, be it in front of him alone or be it shielding it among a superfluous people or a highly relevant crowd. There is no compensation to the lost faith and respect. I do not intend to overestimate a human's degree of forbearance but a leader will always find the art of self-restraint worth practicing.

On this note I would take the opportunity to thank my leader, Madam Ayesha Aamir on this forum, for being the living example that makes me strive for higher and even higher benchmarks. There is something that I, as her subordinate get to learn from her everyday. Should she find herself in utmost workplace deadlines, resulting in immense pressure on her strong single soul, she will get back to the person after a while to talk it all out on realizing her condescending tone a while back. It takes great courage, valor and a brave persona to be the woman she is. As I believe, the best thing about falling head down is that it relieves you of all the exhaustive options and makes you confront with the only way to go.... UP! That is the secret of my leader, she is humble, grateful and beautiful, both inside and out!

Thank you for gracing me with your leadership! The pleasure and learning is all mine.

Sincere Regards,

Verda Ali
