Zach Guiser from Akron University is one of the players from a LEAD1 University nominated for the 2017 William F. Campbell Trophy. He is a defensive back for the Zips is who is a first team CoSida All American. Nominated by their school, the William F. Campbell Trophy, "...recognizes an individual as the absolute best football scholar-athlete in the nation."
Players from the member schools of the LEAD1 Association dominate the list of semifinalists for the 2017 William F. Campbell Trophy. The LEAD1 Association represents the athletic directors, athletic directors, and athletic programs of the 130 universities of the Football Bowl Subdivision. The William F. Campbell Trophy is awarded annually.
