Lead Yourself!.

April 30th 2020 will be my 37th year birthday “I am no longer a boy” and so have decided to answer to a calling I should have answered to years back. If I have 55 more years to live, I will be 92 by then. What would be my legacy? Are you asking yourself the same question if you do your maths?.

Before you get called too, here is one principle that I live by that made me hear the call clearly.

I don't believe “Youths are leaders of tomorrow” I believe that Youths are leaders today, even Kids can lead today. I watch my two year old daughter lead herself and sometimes she want to lead other kids by holding their hands and leading the way. It is never too early to start leading. I think.

One reason why they say youth are leaders of tomorrow is simply because; the system that made people youth leaders in their time has been broken. However, Instead of complaining and writing epistle on how bad the system has become thereby creating more problems. I have chosen to lead myself by involving myself where I can. I refuse to wait for any endorsement or recognition to lead. I have decided to lead myself instead and You must lead yourself too.

Lead yourself!.

Leadership starts from leading “self”. We complain about our government, we forget that we are our own government. What about our inabilities to lead ourselves? Who do we complain to for our inabilities? The ability to lead ourselves builds capacity to leading Nations. Leaders lead themselves into their own future, they intentionally initiate actions to better their lives and people around them. It should begin with yourself, me, with you and progress to our families, friends, our communities, and the world should feel our impact.

The ability to create the future we desire lies within us. Who says we cannot create our own future. Do you think you need another savior to create your future? We were created in the image of our creator. This automatically gives us a creative mind because we are gods, we are makers, innovators and inventors.

Leadership is a process that starts simply with us. Do you see yourself as your own leader? Does your family, friends and community see leadership traits in you like I see in my daughter? You have to believe in yourself and convince yourself about who you are before the world can believe you. You will eventually emerge a leader if only you are able to lead yourself effectively, no doubt. From experience, leadership is a service to the people you lead and not about the position. Leaders build capacity by building people and should create position to function.

Everyone in his or her capacity can lead by choice. Have you created your position to function as a leader? If not, what are you waiting for? There is always an opportunity to lead except we do not recognize these opportunities before us. The leadership gaps are glaring. Are you ready to lead? If not, get set and let us go through the journey of self discovery together, Let us learn together to lead ourselves.

A major key point to building a better society that is lacking in most of us, our homes, churches, government institutions and the world at large is SELF LEADERSHIP. This is the reason many of our leaders mismanage positions. Simply because, they skipped the first task to lead themselves.

I and my team are voluntarily starting a movement that has begun with a titled “Lead yourself”, where everyone can learn the process of self leadership. Once in a while, thought leaders that are willing to help build the next generation of leaders will be invited to deliver their own experience on our platform. I will do a follow up post on one year action plan. Before then, let’s support this movement.

We can lead ourselves by sharing our experience of self leadership and become amazing leaders the world has been waiting for. Let’s start with 2, 5 10, 1000 members of intentional leaders. Everyone is a volunteer on this platform.

Building intentional leaders and contributing positively to humanity is possible when we collaborate. We will learn, support each other and position ourselves to lead and build the next generation of intentional leaders.

On this platform, anyone can share their stories on how they were able to stand up for themselves (self leadership) to inspire others and every topic of discussion will last for one month to ensure we cover every aspect from foundation phase to building capacity. I made a video two days before 2020 as I was exercising. I have continued in this path which have contributed to my mental and physical improvement. I have also added muscles. Enjoy the video, get motivated and dedicated.
