“When I leave this Earth, I want to leave empty.” – Anonymous
Every person yearns to know that their life made a difference, that they mattered to someone. It’s a universal dream to achieve greatness, to make a lasting mark on the world, and to leave a legacy that endures for ages. But who wants to reach the end of their life only to realize they had more to give? Imagine running a race on cruise control—crossing the finish line full of energy while others, exhausted and bent over, gasp for air. You could have run all day because you didn’t give it your all. You jogged.
In life, there are no “do-overs.” You don’t get to run the race again. If you didn’t give your best effort the first time, what makes you think you’d do anything differently if given another chance?
You have one life. One race. This is your wake-up call. Today is your day to run with everything you’ve got, to push harder than ever before. Stop waiting for the last mile to kick it in and pass a few runners at the finish line. It’s time to start running a serious race, to go all in from the very start.
So, what does “leaving the earth empty” look like? It means giving everything you have—everything that’s been entrusted to you. All that you are and all that you have came from God, meant to be shared, not hoarded. Reflect on this: the gifts you hold aren’t yours to keep. They were given to you to invest in others. When you exhaust yourself in service to others, you don’t end up empty—you end up fulfilled.

So ask yourself:
The time is now. Don’t leave anything behind. Live fully, give fully, and when your race is done, leave this world empty.

6 个月I missed this one on the back-to-school rush, Dennis! I believe wholeheartedly that we all have a purpose and that when we find the space where our purpose and passion meet, we’ve found our sweet spot. For me, it’s supporting others in achieving success. I love connecting people with resources and people to complete their mission. There’s nothing better than to me than knowing at the end of the day that I’ve used my skills to help others do their job more easily, reach more people, or connect to resources that have helped them become more successful. This question really impacted me, so I’m going to journal on it this weekend: “When will you finally go all in and run your race?” It made me wonder if I’m truly all in right now or if I’ve slowed down to a stride.
