Lead Like An Artist

Artists always think in three dimensions. When they think about a creative challenge, they come at it from multiple angles. They assess the words, the vision, the stage picture, the optics, the aural experience.

A shift from one angle can be the difference.

When we consider challenging problems in marketing, fundraising or any type of creative leadership that surrounds our art, we need to think about using that same three dimensional thought. You need to be more creative than is comfortable, stretch the definition, open your mind and innovate. Do you need to change the tactic? Or the strategy? Does it need a subtle, yet important shift? Or do you need to view the problem from the perspective of your patron, your employee or your partner?

Allow yourself to flex the creative muscles when solving day to day problems in your world. These creative thinking skills will always encourage collaboration, innovation and a wider set of potential solutions.
