Last Friday, we held an orientation program for our senior sales leaders, providing them with an overview of the next role they could aspire to. The goal was to help them prepare a roadmap for growth. The very next day, I captured the feelings that conducting this session evoked in me in my journal. It was a moment of reflection on the joy of guiding my colleagues toward their potential.
Mahatma Gandhi once said, "The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others." One of the most rewarding aspects of leadership is the opportunity to develop new leaders. When you get the chance to share your knowledge and experience, it brings immense joy and a deep sense of contribution.
It's often said, "When you are called to lead, you are called to serve." Leadership is an opportunity to serve your team by helping them achieve exceptional results, creating processes that simplify their lives, resolving issues, empowering them to make decisions, and nurturing their growth as leaders.
Leadership 2.0 emphasizes the concept of 'leading without a title' and adopting a service mindset. As a lifelong student of leadership, I am particularly drawn to the concept of IMAGE, which captures the essence of this philosophy as described in the book The Leader Who Had No Title.
I - Innovation: Change doesn't happen overnight. Innovation here refers to small, continuous improvements in our work and processes. It's about developing a keen eye for noticing opportunities to make things better.
M – Mastery: Mastery is about treating your job as a craft. Every role offers the opportunity to refine the details like an artisan. It's the mindset of striving to be the First, the Most, the Only, and the Best (FMOB). The path to mastery is paved with relentless practice.
A – Authenticity: Be yourself; don't try to become something you're not. Stay true to your values and beliefs, and your character will naturally shine through. Walk the talk and be authentic in all you do.
G – Guts: Courage is essential. As the saying goes, "Airplanes take off against the wind, not with it." This is true in life as well. As we grow, so do our challenges and potential failures. A courageous mind stands firm, showing resilience and a willingness to step out of the comfort zone.

E – Ethics: Ethics are the time-tested principles that act as a guiding light. When we are true, honest, and committed to our work, nothing can divert us from our path.
Indeed, leadership is a mindset shift from being a victim to being a creator of results. We all have the power to demonstrate these traits in our personal and professional lives and to lead without a title.
When we start to see leadership not as a position of power but as an opportunity to serve, everything changes.
Let's lift each other.
