LEAD BOLDLY: Course Correction

When I was a kid, I had the fun of sitting next to a pilot on a long flight. He was funny and helped me with my homework. He taught me something that has helped me ever since. Because planes fly around the earth, they don’t fly in straight lines. Because the earth is curved, they fly in curves. Which means they don’t go straight ahead, instead, they constantly correct their course.
We can look at challenges on big projects from that perspective. If a meeting goes well or a test step works, we can continue in the same direction. If not, we can course correct and keep going. And so and so on until we reach the goal. It’s not about straight lines, it is about continuing to move forward, correcting course as necessary.
Have a great week,
Julie
What I’m learning this week: The floods this summer in Connecticut were on the news for a day, bounced off the front page by other news of the day but for the people impact, it will be years of rebuilding homes and lives. We can help! Consider making a donation to support families with few resources recover.
Where am I headed? Next week I’ll be with Professional Women in Advocacy . Come join me!
