Le Mans-Winning 1964 Ferrari 250 LM Sells for $36 Million at RM Sotheby’s Paris Auction!
The world of classic car auctions witnessed an extraordinary moment as RM Sotheby’s successfully sold a 1964 Ferrari 250 LM for a staggering $36 million (€34.88 million) at its Paris 2025 auction. This historic sale reaffirms the timeless allure of Ferrari’s legendary racing heritage and cements the 250 LM’s position as one of the most sought-after collector cars of all time.
A Legendary Ferrari with Racing Pedigree
The Ferrari 250 LM, designed by Scaglietti, is a rare masterpiece, with only 32 units ever built. However, what sets this particular chassis number 5893 apart is its remarkable Le Mans-winning history.
In 1965, the North American Racing Team (NART) entered the car into the 24 Hours of Le Mans, where it secured a stunning overall victory, driven by Masten Gregory and Jochen Rindt. This victory was pivotal, marking Ferrari’s sixth consecutive and final outright win at the legendary endurance race, a record that remains unbroken to this day.
For over five decades, this exceptional Ferrari resided in the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum, making it an incredibly well-preserved example of Ferrari’s golden era of racing.
