LCL's Time to Shine Awards 2024 - Round up
Liverpool Clinical Laboratories (LCL)
The largest pathology service in the North West of England. We process over 15 million tests each year.
On Saturday 5 October, we celebrated our second official Time to Shine awards ceremony. These awards celebrate our staff at Liverpool Clinical Laboratories (LCL) and the vital work they do all year round. Not many people fully understand the amount of work that goes on in the labs, so these awards are an amazing way for us to give our staff the recognition they deserve.
The celebrations took place at The Bentley, in Liverpool’s city centre. The room was filled with staff, family, friends, our amazing sponsors and judges – 150 people to be precise! The atmosphere was electric with anticipation to see who would win the nine different categories.
Our Managing Director, Andrew Bamber, kicked off the evening and handed over to our host, comedian and playwriter Lindzi Germain, who captured the room with her improvisational one liners and charming stage presence.

The ceremony was concluded by Chief Finance Officer of Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Rob Forster, who praised those that won an award on the night and all those who work at LCL for their continuous great work. Lindzi said a final few words which was followed by a flurry of confetti cannons that turned the room gold, emphasising the top work done by LCL staff. The night then saw the staff deservedly enjoying themselves with a buffet, disco and a 360-degree selfie stand where the staff could show off their awards in style.
A large amount of gratitude goes to our amazing sponsors: Sysmex, Cephied, Werfen and Greiner Bio-One, who made it possible that the staff could enjoy the evening.
It was heart warming to see colleagues cheering each other on and celebrating into the evening.
Overall, the ceremony was a great success, full of laughs and supportive colleagues. We already cannot wait for next year’s event!
