Are laziness and procrastination an actual problem?

There are some days when you feel lethargic, sit on the couch, and just do nothing and suddenly you get a call from a friend who invites you to watch a football match of your favorite team in the stadium or to watch your favorite actor’s movie first-day first show. You just jump out off the couch and get ready in 5 minutes. Another example you feel lazy to clean the room and have not done it for days then suddenly you receive a call from your mother coming home in 10 minutes. This gives you all the motivation in the world to clean your room before she arrives.
What changes in few minutes?
Are laziness and procrastination the real problem or
is it the absence of something important that we are missing from the equation?
People are not lazy; they have just not yet found the right motivation for them. Human by nature loves achievements, accomplishments, reward recognition as it secrets like Dopamine, Serotonin, and Endorphin.
Dopamine is released on accomplishments, Endorphin is released when you have a good belly laugh, Serotonin when you get public recognition. ?And all this makes us feel good and boosts our immunity. So where does the problem lie?
Like the darkness is nothing in itself but just the absence of light, the same way laziness is nothing itself but lack of right impetus for the person. Different things inspire different people at different stages of life during the day. Find the right motivation for yourself, your children, teammates and see what difference it makes.
Like the darkness is nothing in itself but just the absence of light, the same way laziness is nothing itself but lack of right impetus for the person.
Motivation could be
·??????Towards wanted, desirable, pleasant, rewarding
o??1st example of watching a match or a movie is TOWARDS motivation, that is pleasure
·??????Away from something undesirable, unpleasant, unwanted
o??2nd one is AWAY from something unpleasant/unwanted that’s mothers fury

Both these motivations work for different people at different times, some get excited to go away from the unpleasant, unwanted like working hard for NOT getting fired from the job while others get motivated towards achieving something desirable, wanted like developing new skills to start their own business.
While both motivation directions have their own disciples, going away from the unwanted is not exactly the same as going towards what you want. For long-term goals and true achievements identify you're TOWARDS WANTED motivation and you will see you don’t need an external stimulus to overcome laziness and procrastination. Choose the right motivation and rest, a hormonal lab in the brain will take care by keeping the laziness away, by brightening the path with the right motivation customized for the person.
Choose the right motivation-
"Away From" and "Towards"
You need two things to overcome procrastination
1.??????Direction of motivation
2.??????Love for what you want, how badly you want something
The direction of Motivation and
how badly you want matters?
Right motivation and reward for achievement, recognition, and appreciation are hardwired on our brains during evolution. Choose the right motivation and see what the change makes.

3 年Nice Subject It’s just we probably all know that we are procrastinating many a times just out of laziness or just out of a lack of motivation or the purpose as you have rightly mentioned. But more than that i believe procrastination is perceived very casually and because of that it can become a part of one’s personality trait.

3 年V nice article Neetu Choudhary. Rightly pointed that motivation is missing leading to procrastinations. Other than that I believe not following a plan and just picking random tasks can also be a reason.
